About Us

Business Ethics Foundation is a Section 8 company (CIN – U93000PN2012NPL142019 2011 – 2012) that works to promote Business Ethics. Dr. S. G. Bapat and Associates, leading corporate trainers in Pune actively organized ‘International Conference on Business Ethics’ in December 2009 at the Institute for Management Education and Research (IMER) Belgaum. After the conference it was realised that Business Ethics is not only a conference theme but it is matter of building ethics movement in general and business ethics in particular. Inspired by the response of the conference and by ethical company of Shri Suresh Hundre - Polyhydron (Business Ashram) Belgaum, members formed ‘Forum of Business Ethics’ on January 15, 2010 at PUMBA (Department of Management Sciences, Savitribai Phule Pune University).

Founder members continued to meet regularly once in a month to discuss nature of activities, areas for the projects to be handled by the Forum and organized talks of experts in various fields. Forum was renamed as Business Ethics Foundation and was registered under section 8 nonprofit company on Nov 2, 2012.

It is a group of like-minded people working to develop and implement philosophically sound and actionable frameworks for ethical and effective business management. The timeless principle of dignity of the human being and values of truth, freedom and justice provide the foundation for Business Ethics Foundation. It is essential that within a business, legitimate pursuit of profit should be in harmony with the dignity of people involved in or affected by business including Employees, Owners, Customers, Suppliers and Society. Therefore the Foundation focuses on efforts to create and strengthen “Ethical Awareness” amongst various business stakeholders. The foundation tries to reach all industrial sectors including Education Sector through Meetings / Conferences / Seminars /training / Research Projects / Awards etc. Foundation conducts monthly interactive sessions to deliberate on various issues related ethics across industry.

A Post Gratuate teacher in commerce, Dr. Bapat is a recognised guide for M.Phil and PhD in Commerce and Management. Under his guidence 35 + students from Pune University, SNDT, Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth, Bharati Vidyapeeth completed their PhD. Dr. Bapat is an Ex-Chairman ISTD Pune Chapter, Ex-Chairman Vidya Sahakari Bank Ltd, Hon. Associate Editor of The Mahratta Industrial Annual - a publication of Kesari Marhatta Trust, Pune.

He has been awarded with various awards like, John Dalvi Award for Outstanding Social Work, Best Comerce Teacher Award etc. He is an Ex-Chancellor of Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth. He has written and translated various books in the field of Commerce, Management and Social Field

Dr. G. V.N.Rao

Dr. Rao has done his FCMA, MIMA, Doctorate in Management (Thesis on Corporate Governance) and a Fellow Member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India. Over three and half decades of expertise in Finance, Costing, General Admin, Project Management etc. in both Public and Private Sectors in senior executive cadres.

Retired as Sr. Vice President - Finance from Soma Enterprise Ltd. Presently an Insolvency Professional associated as Liquidator for a large infrastructure Company and as Resolution Professional for a Power production and distribution Company. Independent Director on the Board of a reputed Co-operative Bank and Advisor to Rural Organization for Society Empowerment (ROSE), NGO based out of Hyderabad. Also involved as an external examiner for Ph.D. Theses.

Madhuri is a B.Sc. gratuate and a Certified Entrepreneurship Development Faculty by dept of Science and Technology, Govt. of India.

With more than 20 years of experience, she is a Proprietor of M/s. Career Siddhi, a company conductig activities for student facilitation and associated with corporate management training.

She is a Life Member and a Treasurer of ISTD (Pune Chapter)

The timeless principle of the dignity of the human being and the values of truth, freedom, justice and charity provide the foundation for Business Ethics. It is essential that within a business the legitimate pursuit of profit should be in harmony with respect for the dignity of the people involved in or affected by the business including employees, owners, customers, suppliers and society.

Obviously, the effort to create and strengthen “ethics awareness” will encompass students, teachers, parents, workers, supervisors, Managers, Directors, Social Workers. The foundation will try to reach all these sectors through meetings / Conferences / Seminars / Research Projects etc
